In Remembrance…

The New York Times ran a piece on the death of Henry Gustav Molaison, known in many neuroscience and psychological texts only as H.M. After undergoing an operation in 1953 to correct seizures by destroying a small area of brain, Mr. Molaison was unable to form any new memories. Though H.M.’s life would remain in constant reboot, through this tragedy came a wellspring of knowledge about how the brain and memory works. I’m sure Henry Molaison was unable to comprehend his profound impact on science, so it falls to the rest of us to remember it for him.  Check out the Times piece here.
